The slight performance gain is usually not worth the risks anyways in my opinion. Just be careful with the clock speed tuning and stuff, if you're not familiar with overclocking, then just don't tamper with that part of it. Custom fan curve is always a top suggestion with that app as default fan curves always suck. There's a lot of features to that app which you may consider disabling or fine tuning. In Precision XOC, under settings, you just manually set the frame rate target to 144, click OK before exiting out of that popup and minimize Precision XOC, and you're all done.

Keep in mind that any EVGA video card will work with registration just as long as there's a serial number sticker on it and isn't already registered. Unfortunately, that's about the limit of my knowledge on that matter. If you have neither one, then maybe there's some other third party app that can do it. If your GTX 1070 was made by EVGA, then it's just a matter of registering your graphics card with their website and downloading the app for free, and I assume it's the same with MSI website if you have an MSI graphics card. my suggestion would be to find a way to get one of them.

Assuming you don't already have Precision XOC or MSI Afterburner installed since you don't know what it is. Ya, Nvidia control panel is lazy that way. Am I doing something wrong? I couldn't find the option in the MSI Afterburner settings either. I tried changing the setting in the NVIDIA control panel that seemed like it was supposed to lock it to the HP Omen monitor, but apparently not because the Steam FPS counter is still showing Aim Hero at 309 FPS.

Here is a short video i captured showing use case No.I can't for the life of me figure out how to cap my FPS output. You should only relay on the In game FPS counter found in the developer mode Hence, it is no longer a defiant absolute numbers you can relay on depicting your true FPS in the SIM. who know what else or other parameters could change the FPS values shown in the SIM screen. The fact that I am getting hugs lags and slowness (like a 10-15FPS behavior) in the city but yet it shows 30+ FPS.Ģ. once there is a case which the FPS counter values/numbers are screwed up and changed because of an action in the game that was taken,Įven if it's a bug or not.

My conclusion is that the FPS we are seeing is not the real FPS and misleading information, at least in my case using external FPS tools for the following reasons:ġ. same if i did in New York, i had around 25-30fps in the city, popped out the VFR map and i got around 47FPS,Įven though it for sure did not feel like 47FPS, not even a 25-30 FPS, but more like 18FPS.

The 67 FPS was showing on the main Simulator window both in NVIDIA HUB and MSI afterburner. If I open up the VFR map in the top menu bar and than i pop it out from the screen as a separated window (in my case i dragged it to my second monitor), the FPS jumped to 67FPS on average.īoth in the air and on the ground where it was around 40-43FPS without the VFR mad as a separated window, The 40-43 FPS pretty much remained stable throughout my short 5nm radius flight i did, which is fine. I loaded my plane on some airport in Papua and the FPS showed around 43FPS. this was the nail in the coffin for me to conclude this. But I had more FPS with DX11 then with DX12.

It felt more like 15 FPS based on the slowness and lags (trust me I know what 20+ FPS feels compared to 15FPS, had this my entire time in FSX/P3D, I am an expert).Ģ. It will be used on both Windows as well as the next-gen Xbox Series X. i flown into downtown New York, dodging between the buildings on my DA40 in order to get the most FPS impact i could and even though my FPS showed being 32FPS at most times (some times it dropped to 23-26FPS), Here are the details of the use cases i ran and why I have reached to this conclusion.ġ. When using the developer mode FPS counter, it seemed to be more accurate and make more seance. That the FPS shown is not the real FPS and misleading numbers (at least in my case) when using external FPS counter tools. Hi guys, I ran few tests on the Sim at all types of flights measuring the FPS both with NVIDIA HUB FPS counter and with the MSI afterburner / RivaTuner Statistics and I got to conclusion
